USU Partners in Business Research Results

Wednesday, April 30th, 2008

This last semester I had the opportunity to work with and lead a small team of students on a research project for USU Partners in Business Seminars. We were looking for an alternative method to market and advertise these seminars to increase attendance without spending more than we currently were. It was a really fun, challenging project and I thought I would share the powerpoint presentation I put together with results and the final proposal with the world. I did a few things with the website that I will talk about later, but for now, here lie the goods! Hope you enjoy!

TimeClick…Google #4!

Monday, April 28th, 2008

So my original goal for TimeClick software was to get them into the top 20 ranking on Google for time clock software. We hit that about a month and a half ago. So we upped it to top 10…and today…

…well, check out the screen shot below!

Tell Me Who I Should Marry

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Back in the day, the common way to handle the whole marriage thing was to either have an arranged marriage or get one of those matchmaker ladies to hook you up like on Fiddler on the Roof. No so these days. Finding someone you fall in love with and with whom you want to spend your days with is tricky.

Developing a relationship that can lead to marriage requires work, hard work, patience, and sacrifice. Sometimes, I think we treat our futures in much the same was as those in the past treated marriage, we expect someone else, or mere chance, to take care of the dirty work for us.

Not so.

Our futures are entirely in our hands. If we want to realize are dreams and succeed according to our own, personal definition of success we must be will to work, work hard, be patient, and sacrifice. We can’t expect to cruise through school being uninvolved in classes, squeaking by with C’s because we would rather sleep in than go to class, constantly haggle with teachers for better grades we don’t deserve, and somehow expect to have a sweet job waiting for us the second we walk off the graduation podium with our diploma.

If I want to marry someone great who I love, I’ve got to be great and I’ve got to be ready to work at it and sacrifice. If I want to have a great career I love, I have to be great and I have to sacrifice and work as hard as I can.

If Mike Weir Wins…I Get the Credit

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

So I was at Subway yesterday grabbing some grub after nine holes of golf with an old friend and lo-and-behold who walks in but 2003 Masters Champion Mike Weir! My friend finally got the guts up to say HI and then as he was leaving I called over my shoulder, “Good luck next week.”

He heard me and said thanks, so if he wins the masters next week…I called it and I gave him his luck.  Maybe he’ll share his winnings with me…eh?
