Flowcharts > 0 = Too Many

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

I have a professor that uses way too many flowcharts. Today alone, I think there were at least 6 in a one hour PowerPoint presentation. By the end, I had no idea what she was talking about.**Begin Rant**
Now this isn’t to say that flowcharts are bad, but don’t force the most farfetched principles into a flowchart. There are dashed lines going from one bow to 6 other boxes and everything somehow turns into a cycle no matter what. Jackson Pollock would be jealous of the impressionistic art my professors can create.
**End Rant, in case my professors read this**

I think there are other ways to describe cycles, sequences, and principles. Let’s expand our horizons shall we? We live in an age of flash video and incredibly easy visual effects…lets use them and be creative…for once.

The Marketing Mix That is Gregg Blanchard

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

Me ShotAs I look for internships and try to figure out the path I would like to take after graduation, I realize that I am in fact, marketing myself….so why not identify some key marketing points about myself?

My Value Proposition: The man with the strongest work ethic, freshest experience, and creativity even Dr. Suess would be jealous of!

My Price: Any, as long as it gives me good experience and prepares me for bigger and better things.

My Product: An employee that: works hard, learns fast, has hands-on experience, loves learning, and enjoys meeting and working with new people.

My Promotion: This Blog, My Website, My Resume, Networking (especially on the ski lift), Career Fairs, and personal contacts.

My Place: Anywhere there is marketing to be done, snow to be slid on, or young women to be swooned.

My Call To Action: Give me an internship now! Not doing so could result in vomiting, nausea, headaches, internal bleeding, or dry mouth. (still working on that one).

Unofficial Senior Project…Update

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

Check that image out…left aligned. How do you like them apples!? So the unofficial senior project is coming right along. I think I have my idea nailed down and now am just refining the logistics and budget of the whole thing. I figured I would give a sneak peak to what it is going to be by showing a sliver of the homepage…it won’t tell you much about it but you are welcome to guess :)
