Another lunchtime post for y’alls.  A quick list of random numbers from the last little bit of my life:

0 – number of days I drove my car last work week
1 – number of months left till I move back to Logan
3 – number of times in the last week I have been mistaken for a mormon missionary
15 – number of bologna sandwhiches i have eaten in the last week
26 – miles I rode my bike on Saturday
31 – number of days left till I move back to Logan
59 – number of cents required to purchase pistachio pudding
189 – cost of my trip to Las Vegas in a few weeks
744 – number of hours left till I move back to Logan
1,194 – errors in my registry or bits of adware on my computer found during a system cleanup on my old laptop

What REALLY Happens in Board Meetings

I thought I would take a few minutes at lunch to share some insiders knowledge as to what really happens in board meetings.  Blackberries happen.  Yep, it may look like attendees are checking an urgent message but in reality, they are surfing the net, looking at family, pictures, and even playing games (all of which I have seen happen during my internship).

So what do I think of all this?  I think I need to get an iPhone.  No, actually I think its great.  Sometimes, meetings can get long and boring when discussions are going down that are totally unrelated to you.  Mobile devices are a perfect way to get a little work done or pass the time so that when you are needed to contribute, you’re on the ball…not asleep drooling on the visiting CEO next to you.

Made to Stick: Incredible Example

Last year I read the book “Made to Stick” and while I wasn’t a huge fan of the writing style (making it a little tough to get through some parts) the ideas were intense and super-applicable.

Today, whilst reading the Made to Stick Blog, I saw this video that embodies this book and it’s concepts.  Out of the six factors that influence stickiness, it nails almost all of them: its simple, unexpected, concrete, credible, and highly emotional.
